Diets That Work Fast
Health and Eating Tips
Let’s go into some of the diets that work fast, so you’ll have options when it comes time to drop a few pounds before the next holiday, your next reunion, or a vacation. While it’s true that most diets come down to “calories in, calories out”, certain dieting techniques let you shed weight quicker than others.
Fast Weight Loss Diets
Most of the diets listed below fall into the “low carb diets”, which are the rage in the 21st century health communities. That’s easier said than done, because carbohydrates come from bread, crackers, cookies, certain vegetables (potatoes), and so on. Lowering carbs means you’ll stop eating at drive-thrus and gorging on breads.
South Beach Diet – One of many low-carb diets, which includes lowering your carbohydrate intake by eating foods like chicken breasts, sea bass, eggs, tomatoes, special herbs, strawberries, broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, and milk.
Zone Diet – In theory, your body enters a “zone” once you ingest 40% carbs, 30% fats, and 30% proteins. You’ll need to use an online zone diet calculator, but the advantages (supposedly) involve better hormone balance. Common zone diet foods include eggs, blueberry pancakes, and specific types of stews and beef.
Atkins Diet – Avoiding “bad carbs”, which can be hard on the body at first, but becomes easier with time. You’ll shed off the weight quickly in the early weight loss phase, though the weight tends to return as soon as you go off the diet.
Cabbage Soup Diet – Eating cabbage soup along with specific foods each day for a week, including fruits (no bananas) on the first day, veggies on the 2nd, fruits and vegetables on the 3rd, bananas on the fourth, and so on. Since cabbage soup is low in calories, you should lose pounds throughout the week.
Diabetic Diet – Eliminating sugar intake and “refined carbs”, mainly white flour, is good at supplying nutrients, while lowering your glucose level.
Keep in mind that not all dietitians, doctors, and researchers agree on how healthy some of the diets suggested above, so you’ll want to consult your doctor if you believe there’s a reason you should avoid the particulars of one of these eating regimens.
Again, dropping weight quickly tends to be unhealthy. While getting rid of a few pounds to fit into your jeans for a school reunion is something a lot of us do, if you want to drop weight, live healthy, and regain energy, you’ll want to start a moderate exercise program, eat a sustainable diet, take your vitamins, drink plenty of water, and modify your lifestyle ever so slightly to make these changes permanent.
