Growing Up Milk: A Necessity or a Luxury?
Many people have differing opinions when it comes to growing up milk, and as a mother trying to do my best for my child I have been searching high and low for some definitive answer as to whether children need growing up milk or not. The manufacturers of growing up milk products say one thing whilst some online baby websites say another. Is it any wonder why so many of us new mums are confused?
Necessity
During my search for information, I read an article by a paediatrician which clearly was encouraging parents to buy growing up milk for their children. He listed numerous benefits to the milk and said that many experts believe the extra vitamins and minerals found in growing up milk are crucial for growing children. He also mentioned that some children are unable to drink cow’s milk due to allergies and in cases like these, growing up milk is definitely the best option.
Luxury
After looking through more websites there seemed to be a differing of opinion with a number of websites saying that growing up milk is only essential for children who are allergic to cow’s milk or who have a very poor diet. These websites also say that solid foods should be enough for a growing child and that growing up milk isn’t required.
So is growing up milk a necessity or a luxury? I am going to take the expert’s advice and see it as a necessity. After all, a paediatrician should definitely know what he is talking about.
